We want therapy to be financially accessible for everyone. Reduced rates are available case-by-case based on need and availability.
We submit directly to most major insurers, so you don't pay out of pocket upfront.
Our office is in Ottawa. All client records are stored in Canada and handled under PIPEDA and PHIPA.
Therapy is a space to slow down and look at what's underneath. These are some of the patterns people bring into the room.
FOR WHEN SOMETHING FEELS OFF
There are a lot of therapists and approaches out there, and it's hard to know who's right for what you're carrying. A short, no-pressure consult takes the guesswork out of the first step.
It doesn't have to be a crisis. Ongoing stress, low mood, anxiety, a strained relationship, or simply not feeling like yourself, all of it is worth bringing to therapy.
Between work, family, and everything else, adding one more thing can feel like a lot. In-person at Centrepointe or secure video across Ontario, with flexible times, is meant to make it workable.
Therapy at Auren Wellness starts with a real conversation, not a form. In a free 15-minute consult, you talk with a person about what's going on and what you're hoping for, and we help match you with a therapist whose training and style fit. If it feels right, you book a first full session from there, with no pressure and no commitment to continue.
Our therapists work across the concerns people most often bring to therapy, including anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, relationships, trauma, life transitions, and self-worth. They draw on evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and others chosen around you rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol. Sessions are 50 minutes, in person at our Centrepointe office or by secure video across Ontario.
We try to keep the practical side simple too: fees are confirmed at your consult, we direct-bill where your plan allows, and we hold a limited number of sliding-scale spots for people who need them.
Email, phone, or fill out our booking form. There's no script and no pressure. You can share as much or as little as you want.
A real person, not a bot, will reply as soon as we can with a few options for a free 15-minute consultation.
We listen. You ask questions. No paperwork, no obligation. If we're not the right match, we'll point you toward someone who might be.
Direct billing where possible. Evening and weekend availability. Virtual or in-person in Ottawa.
Sessions are 50 minutes in length. Rates vary by therapist and are confirmed during your free consultation. We accept e-transfer and credit cards, and direct-bill most insurers.
Sliding-scale spots are available based on need. Ask during your free consultation.
Same 50-minute format, structured for two participants and shared concerns.
Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Social Worker services are covered by most extended health plans in Canada. We recommend confirming your specific coverage before your first paid session. Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Green Shield, and most major insurers include coverage.
We direct-bill where your insurer allows it. Otherwise, you pay at the time of session and submit the receipt for reimbursement.
Every session generates a receipt listing the provider's license number, suitable for insurance reimbursement.
In-person sessions are held at our Ottawa office. Virtual sessions use a secure, PIPEDA-compliant video platform. You can switch between the two.
We ask for 24 hours notice on cancellations. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee.
After the free 15-minute consultation, your first paid session is intake-focused. Bring questions, anything you have already tried, and any goals you have in mind.
Everyone's experience is different. Explore the focus that fits what you're navigating, or book a free consult and we'll help you find the right starting point.

There's no threshold you have to cross. If something is affecting your mood, relationships, work, or sense of yourself, or you just feel stuck, therapy can help. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to benefit.
Fees vary by therapist and are confirmed at your free 15-minute consult, so you know the number before you book. We hold a limited number of sliding-scale spots for people who need them, and we direct-bill where your plan allows.
OHIP does not cover private psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist or Social Worker. Many workplace benefit plans do, though coverage varies by plan and by which designation it reimburses. It's worth checking your annual maximum and covered providers with your insurer.
The first session is mostly about getting to know you: what brought you in, what you're hoping for, and a bit of background. There's no pressure to share more than you're ready to, and you and your therapist decide together where to go from there.
There's no fixed number. Some people come for a few sessions to work through something specific; others stay longer for deeper or ongoing support. You set the pace with your therapist and can revisit it as you go.
Both. You can meet in person at our Centrepointe office in Ottawa or by secure video anywhere in Ontario, and you can mix the two depending on the week.
They differ in training, scope, and sometimes fees. Registered Psychotherapists and Registered Social Workers both provide talk therapy; psychologists can also do formal assessments and diagnoses. For most therapy, any of them may be a good fit, and the match with your therapist usually matters more than the letters.
Fit matters more than anything. Our free 15-minute consult is designed to help with exactly this: we learn what you're looking for and match you with a therapist whose training and style suit it. If it's not the right fit, that's okay to say.
Yes. What you share in therapy stays private, with a few narrow legal exceptions your therapist will explain up front, such as risk of serious harm. Confidentiality is a core part of how the work is protected.
Availability varies by therapist, but we usually reply to new enquiries within the hour during business hours and aim to get you matched quickly. Reach out and we'll let you know current options.
Therapy is a longer-term relationship. If you're in acute distress, please reach the services below first. They are free, confidential, and available right now.
