We want therapy to be financially accessible for everyone. Reduced rates are available case-by-case based on need and availability.
We submit directly to most major insurers, so you don't pay out of pocket upfront.
Our office is in Ottawa. All client records are stored in Canada and handled under PIPEDA and PHIPA.
Therapy is a space to slow down and look at what's underneath. These are some of the patterns people bring into the room.
FOR WHEN SOMETHING FEELS OFF
You need to work, so you sit down to work, but anxiety makes it impossible to focus. So you avoid. The avoidance makes the anxiety worse. By the time you start, you're in a state of pure panic. It's not procrastination, it's anxiety doing what anxiety does.
Everyone else seems to be handling it. Everyone else seems more prepared, more confident, more deserving of being here. The constant comparison exhausts you, and the fear of being "found out" sits underneath almost everything you do.
You take a break, but you don't actually feel better. The anxiety is still there, waiting. For many students, fatigue isn't the core problem, it's the chronic stress and anxiety that's been running underneath it all.
Student anxiety often involves a mix of performance pressure, identity stress, social anxiety, and practical overwhelm, layered on top of nervous systems that are, in many cases, encountering real adult-level demands for the first time.
We work collaboratively with students to understand what's driving their specific anxiety and develop practical tools for managing it. We may use approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to address thought patterns around performance and failure, mindfulness-based skills for exam and presentation anxiety, and strategies for building sustainable study and rest rhythms.
Therapy for students is practical and relevant to where you actually are in your life. We don't just talk, you leave with tools you can use this week.
If a relentless inner critic and impossibly high self-imposed standards are part of the picture, our page on therapy for perfectionism and overthinking goes deeper into how that pattern works and what changes it.
Email, phone, or fill out our booking form. There's no script and no pressure. You can share as much or as little as you want.
A real person, not a bot, will reply as soon as we can with a few options for a free 15-minute consultation.
We listen. You ask questions. No paperwork, no obligation. If we're not the right match, we'll point you toward someone who might be.
Direct billing where possible. Evening and weekend availability. Virtual or in-person in Ottawa.
Sessions are 50 minutes in length. Rates vary by therapist and are confirmed during your free consultation. We accept e-transfer and credit cards, and direct-bill most insurers.
Sliding-scale spots are available based on need. Ask during your free consultation.
Same 50-minute format, structured for two participants and shared concerns.
Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Social Worker services are covered by most extended health plans in Canada. We recommend confirming your specific coverage before your first paid session. Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Green Shield, and most major insurers include coverage.
We direct-bill where your insurer allows it. Otherwise, you pay at the time of session and submit the receipt for reimbursement.
Every session generates a receipt listing the provider's license number, suitable for insurance reimbursement.
In-person sessions are held at our Ottawa office. Virtual sessions use a secure, PIPEDA-compliant video platform. You can switch between the two.
We ask for 24 hours notice on cancellations. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee.
After the free 15-minute consultation, your first paid session is intake-focused. Bring questions, anything you have already tried, and any goals you have in mind.
QUESTIONS
Yes. We offer secure video sessions across Ontario, which fit most student schedules, plus in-person sessions in Ottawa. Several of our therapists are also registered in other provinces, so if you study outside Ontario, ask us to match you with someone licensed where you are. We will find a time that works around classes and work.
Yes. We may use CBT to address performance-related thoughts, plus practical skills for exams, presentations, and procrastination spirals. The focus is on tools you can use this week, not just talking.
Some stress is normal. When anxiety makes it impossible to focus, causes burnout that rest does not fix, or has you avoiding work entirely, that is worth support, and it is very common among students.
Rates are confirmed at your free consult, and sliding-scale spots are available with select therapists. We will be upfront about fees and any direct-billing options before you book.
Therapy is a longer-term relationship. If you're in acute distress, please reach the services below first. They are free, confidential, and available right now.
