We want therapy to be financially accessible for everyone. Reduced rates are available case-by-case based on need and availability.
We submit directly to most major insurers, so you don't pay out of pocket upfront.
Our office is in Ottawa. All client records are stored in Canada and handled under PIPEDA and PHIPA.
Therapy is a space to slow down and look at what's underneath. These are some of the patterns people bring into the room.
FOR WHEN SOMETHING FEELS OFF
Not a session about the relationship, or about the kids. An hour where the subject is you, and you do not have to manage anyone else's reaction to what you say.
You have good people in your life and you have told them some of it. It helped, and it did not quite reach the thing underneath.
There is no crisis to point at. Things look fine from outside, and something still feels off. That is enough of a reason to start.
Individual therapy is a standing hour that belongs to you. Sessions are 50 minutes, one to one with the same therapist, and the pace is set with you rather than against a schedule.
What people work on varies widely: anxiety, low mood, stress and burnout, self-worth, grief, life transitions, patterns that keep repeating, and the aftermath of difficult experiences. Your therapist draws on approaches suited to what you bring, and adjusts as things develop.
Sessions are confidential within the limits your therapist will explain at the start, including the specific situations where Ontario law requires disclosure. If what you are facing centres on a partner or on your family as a whole, couples therapy or family therapy may fit better, and we are glad to talk that through at the consult.
Email, phone, or fill out our booking form. There's no script and no pressure. You can share as much or as little as you want.
A real person, not a bot, will reply as soon as we can with a few options for a free 15-minute consultation.
We listen. You ask questions. No paperwork, no obligation. If we're not the right match, we'll point you toward someone who might be.
Direct billing where possible. Evening and weekend availability. Virtual or in-person in Ottawa.
Sessions are 50 minutes in length. Rates vary by therapist and are confirmed during your free consultation. We accept e-transfer and credit cards, and direct-bill most insurers.
Sliding-scale spots are available based on need. Ask during your free consultation.
Same 50-minute format, structured for two participants and shared concerns.
Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Social Worker services are covered by most extended health plans in Canada. We recommend confirming your specific coverage before your first paid session. Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Green Shield, and most major insurers include coverage.
We direct-bill where your insurer allows it. Otherwise, you pay at the time of session and submit the receipt for reimbursement.
Every session generates a receipt listing the provider's license number, suitable for insurance reimbursement.
In-person sessions are held at our Ottawa office. Virtual sessions use a secure, PIPEDA-compliant video platform. You can switch between the two.
We ask for 24 hours notice on cancellations. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee.
After the free 15-minute consultation, your first paid session is intake-focused. Bring questions, anything you have already tried, and any goals you have in mind.
QUESTIONS
Individual therapy is one-to-one work between you and a therapist, usually 50 minutes at a time. The focus stays on your experience rather than on a relationship or family system, which gives you space to work through things at your own pace.
In individual therapy you are the client and the work centres on you. In couples therapy or family therapy, the relationship itself is the focus and more than one person is in the room. Some people do both at different times, with different therapists.
People commonly bring anxiety, low mood, stress and burnout, self-worth, grief, relationship patterns, life transitions, and the effects of difficult past experiences. You do not need to arrive with it organised. Working out what matters most is often part of the early sessions.
Weekly or every other week is common at the start, and the spacing often changes over time. What works depends on what you are working on, your schedule, and your budget. Your therapist will discuss the options rather than set a fixed pattern.
Fit matters a great deal in therapy, and it is reasonable to want a different match. You can tell us, and we will do our best to move you to another therapist on the team. It is a normal request, and one we would much rather you raise with us than sit with.
Yes, within the limits your therapist will explain at the start. Those limits are set by Ontario law and the regulatory colleges, and cover situations such as risk of serious harm or suspected abuse or neglect of a child.
Yes. Sessions are available by secure video anywhere in Ontario, and in person at our Centrepointe office in Ottawa. Many people move between the two depending on the week.
No. Plenty of people come to individual therapy without a diagnosis and without a specific crisis. Wanting something in your life to feel different is a reasonable place to begin.
Availability varies by therapist, and some do offer earlier or later appointments. The most reliable way to find out is to mention the times that work for you at your consult so we can match you with someone whose schedule fits.
The first session is largely about getting oriented. Your therapist will ask what brought you in, what you are hoping for, and some background, and will explain confidentiality and how they work. You set the pace on how much you share early on.
Therapy is a longer-term relationship. If you're in acute distress, please reach the services below first. They are free, confidential, and available right now.
